Currently, studying his Masters in China. This book was printed by: Montfort Media, Malawi with ISBN number 978-9996077-65-4, in 2024.
This book is about a holistic approach to creating a wealthy Malawi. It has a total of seven chapters.
The book talks about Malawi’s road to wealth creation as not a one man operation thing but for all Malawians. He says that this big task cannot only be left to politicians alone but to every Malawian citizen including the youth. Everybody should work hard to contribute to Malawi’s development.
The book encourages the government to give people who are applying for land to construct houses or businesses, as this will develop Malawi.
The book encourages the government to put agriculture first as a country and put these districts as our pillars like Mchinji, Chikwawa, Ntcheu, Kasungu, Karonga, Nkhotakota and their specific well to do crops to be promoted. Malawi needs permanent agricultural areas and these areas need to be well protected. He further said that, as a country, we should not rely on rain fed water alone but irrigation farming to cater for the all round season yields production.
The author criticized the cases of corruption such as bribes, embezzlement and extortion that led to the loss of financial resources in the country which could be used to help eradicate poverty in the country. Every day we hear of cases of corruption which is making our country not to develop and he said without ending corruption, development will be very hard.
Blessings further says that accountability and transparency is needed in public institutions as this will foster development. Malawian civil servants should be accountable and transparent in their actions. He also discussed that, within 10 years Malawi will need to set up 10 districts as centers for agriculture, build more agricultural infrastructures, build two centres for agricultural technology and twenty training centres for agricultural activities. The government should support promotion of agricultural products, the companies involved in processing agricultural products making Malawi the international agricultural market.
Blessings proposed the use of free WIFI in public places to be put in forefront. As this will help the citizens especially the youths to use the internet to learn different skills online and practise them and make money.
Blessings argues that there's a need for more sugar companies for export and building more textile companies for processing cotton, improvement of fish production, and canned goods for exports. This can be done by making juice from watermelons and tangerines, producing cooking oil from soya beans, and sunflowers to improve export.
Blessings discusses making cosmetics, dry mangoes and different juices from fruits, improving rice production, fresh products and dry meat from beef and goat meat.
Emotional Resonance: Throughout the book, Blessing's emotions and experiences are vividly portrayed. His love for his country, his commitment to serving Malawians, and his genuine desire to make a difference are palpable.
In conclusion, this book is so inspiring, thought provoking and eye opener to both citizens and the government. It has provided different ways to create wealth in Malawi. The book explores the themes of Empowerment and Identity. “Malawian Wealth Creation” is a book that every Malawian should read and do his part in order to develop our country.
