GUEST WRITER ~LUKE KAMANGA  Luke  Kamanga, well known as Lukay Kamanga, was born in 1997 and is single. He hails from Group Village Headman Kampeya in Nkhata Bay, Malawi. He holds a Malawi School Certificate of Education, which he obtained at Best Valley Private Secondary School in 2021. He is currently waiting to pursue his Diploma in Theology.  Lukay is a renowned poet (Mlakatuli) with poems like 'Whatsapp,' 'Dziko la ana amasiye,' and 'Mwamuna si Bank Mkhonde.' He is also an international poet who has collaborated with poets from various countries, including Zambia, where he featured in a poem titled 'Secret of Love' with a poet named Inkpokett.                                                         THE AFRICA WE WANT Africa as a continent we are blessed with a lot of natural resources that need to be explored properly if we are to develop. We have plenty fertile soil and minerals. Africa would have been the richest in the world by now but because of so many things that happens like Corruption which makes it hard to achieve her goals. The cases of wars and presence of terrorist attacks, economic crisis and old fashioned education system are all serious issues hindering development. This is not Africa we want, we need socio-economic transformation and a zero tolerance on corruption with no more absolute poverty but with people doing things they want without being oppressed in any way because of gender or physical make up. WHY MALAWI? Why Malawi? A country as small as it is, with poor people but a lot of issues.   I cannot believe as a nation, we are still failing to fight corruption which has destroyed our small beautiful country with all resources to make us wealthy.   Malawi has got fertile soil which if used properly, can make us an exporting country but most land is underutilised because of rampant corruption. We read every day in the newspapers of huge corruption scandals happening in different government departments and ministries but nothing is done to these corrupt people and yet the money embezzled is the tax payer’s money which is meant for the country's development.   This has happened in Malawi, where a government ministry abused tractor funds and only apologised in the newspaper for their actions and yet we are talking of billions of Malawi Kwachas.
