My Experience at Rhythm City Soap Shooting in South Africa

Image
Sasani studios in South Africa In 2012, I was in my early 20s when I took a significant step by leaving my home country to pursue opportunities in South Africa. South Africa, a vast country offering diverse opportunities, is particularly conducive for African talents looking to kickstart careers in modeling, music production, filmmaking, acting, singing, dancing, comedy, and more. Personally, I ventured into modeling and acting. To begin in this industry, one must obtain a TPIN number for tax purposes, sign with a talent agency to access relevant connections, and pay a joining fee ranging from R300 to R500. Additionally, new entrants typically undergo photo sessions and receive training on posing and professional conduct for assignments. I signed with Posture Models and was selected to participate in the Rhythm City soap opera shoot at Sasani Studios, located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Sasani Studios, a prominent facility, houses various sets including those for Big Brother

He is currently a University student at Chancellor College in Zomba, Malawi.  I tried, I cried, but no one was there To hear me out, to wipe away my tears Hope was lost, I screamed through the night A lonely, desperate plea, with no one in sight It felt like a nightmare, a dark cloud that shrouded me My parents, my friends, weren't there to set me free Their absence stabbed at my patience, slowly draining my hope I tried to fight back, but couldn't cope My eyes were blackmailed, my future unclear Nothing about me seemed to matter, no one was near But then I remembered, the Son of the Almighty God Didn't leave me alone, when I was struggling to carry on Even when I felt like water, flowing away My hand was held tightly, by a love that wouldn't stray It wasn't slightly, it was a mighty grip That helped me through the da

GUEST WRITER  CHIKUMBUTSO BILLY THAWALE Chikumbutso is a Malawian young writer who writes poems, short stories and novels. He is currently a University student at Chancellor College in Zomba, Malawi.  Four years have passed, yet the pain remains A long night of terror, a monster's cruel games I was flooded with pain, unable to fight And though I cried out, my voice was lost in the night My parents, my friends, thought it was a lie But I know the truth, and the tears won't dry Fear still fills my eyes, a constant reminder Of the trauma I faced, the suffering I endured  Will I ever escape this prison of shame? Can I cleanse the scars and reclaim my name? My future, once bright, now lies in decay But I refuse to let it fade away No, it's not over, my sister, it's not the end The fire within me still burns, a passion that transcends A vision takes shape, a mission to fulfill I'll rise up, take action, and make my spirit soar still. STOP RAPE.

ON TB JOSHUA’S 2024 BBC DOCUMENTARY

Image
TB Joshua  The 2024 BBC documentary on the renowned Nigerian prophet, TB Joshua, of the Synagogue Church of All Nations and Emmanuel Television, has left many in shock. Often regarded as a man of God due to his purported healing abilities, including curing the sick, those with HIV/AIDS, cancer patients, and even facilitating the walking of disabled individuals, TB Joshua's public image seemed to align with the acts of a genuine prophet. However, revelations from past disciples who left the church suggest a different narrative, alleging abuse by the prophet. In Matthew 24:24, the Bible forewarns of the last days, cautioning that false messiahs and false prophets will arise, presenting themselves as followers of Jesus. They will perform great signs and wonders while ultimately engaging in wrongdoing against God's kingdom. The scripture urges believers to exercise caution, emphasizing that these false prophets will appear as angels of light. This is because

LAUGH HOUR-HUMOUR

We often leave our kids to stay with our parents. While it's not a bad idea, prolonged stays can pose issues. Take, for instance, a child who got so accustomed to calling their grandma "Granny" that when visiting their own mother, they accidentally referred to her as "Granny" too. She laughed it off, but now the child insists on calling her mother "Granny" or "Gogo" (grandmother). People tend to comment on couples they deem mismatched, pointing out the contrast between a beautiful lady, whom they liken to a flower, and her partner, described as being like a beast or a stone. But why does it matter? Perhaps these individuals complement each other in ways unseen by others when they are alone. Some people are naturally funny. Their mere presence brings joy, without even uttering a word. Such individuals have a gift for brightening your day, reminding us of the diversity that makes each of us unique. Mobile phones keep us perpetually occupied. Ju

The joy and anticipation that accompanied her graduation had gradually given way to frustration and despair. Each day, she scoured the newspapers and online job portals, sending out applications to countless employers, hoping for that elusive opportunity. As if her struggle to secure a job wasn't enough, she was burdened by a far more pressing concern - her ailing mother. Chikondi's mother, Mary, was a warm-hearted woman who had raised Chikondi and her younger sister, Tawonga, single-handedly. But now, Mary was bedridden, battling a severe illness that required costly medical attention. The local hospital had minimal resources and was often plagued by shortages of medicine, leaving Chikondi helpless and overwhelmed. Chikondi visited the hospital daily, watching her mother's health deteriorate while the hospital staff offered little more than apologies a
