Folktale - John's Encounter with a Mysterious Girl

John, who lived in a village called Chenjera, was once sent by his father to buy fertilizer in town. His father gave him K10, 000-00. When he arrived in the town, he came across a very beautiful lady whom he had never seen before, shining like a diamond. She was as bright as the sun, as dazzling as fire. Everything seemed to revolve around her as if she were the chosen one, a special person destined for him.

When John saw all this, confusion spun in his head, and he couldn't believe his eyes. He touched her shoulder and said, "Hello, Barbie. Where do you live?" The girl responded by teasing him and staring at him with eyes that never blinked. She then followed him closely without saying a word. The girl seemed curious about why this shabby-looking village boy was approaching her. She wanted to find out what he wanted from her. Surprisingly, she asked him, "What do you want from me?"

"I want you to be my girlfriend, kiss, kiss, love to love," he said. When the girl heard this, she blushed and felt embarrassed.

"Do you even know me?" she asked him, furiously. Without wasting time, John handed over K8, 000-00 to her and whispered to the mysterious girl, promising to fulfill her desires like a puppet stealing candy. The girl did not hesitate to take the money. She smiled and put the money in her small gold hustle bag. John's only thought was that the girl would follow him, but he was wrong. The girl left him, saying she was rushing somewhere. John tried to stop her, but she was already gone.

John started crying like a child in the town, thinking about what he would tell his father in the village. He imagined what his father would do to him. The beautiful girl had caused chaos in his life.

The cunning boys in the town had already found ways to exploit John's misfortune. They approached him, mocking his situation and making fun of him, saying, "Let us guide you to the girl who took your money." John just cried. They also stole the remaining K2, 000-00 from him.

All of John's thoughts were focused on how to solve this dilemma and find a way to return home safely without his father's troubles. Suddenly, a brilliant idea struck him. John decided to go back to his village and tell his father that he had lost the money.

John returned home without the fertilizer. He faced his father's disappointment for being foolish in town. His punishment was to do all the farm work alone for the whole year. What a punishment!
